Mijndomein, a sister company of Dotlocal and one of the largest hosting companies in the Netherlands, has opened pre-registrations in preparation for the new domain extensions. If these domain extensions are applied for next year, Mijndomein will attempt to convert as many of these pre-registrations as possible into ‘real’ domain names to be used with websites and email addresses.
It is clear that this is not only being followed within our own ‘domain world’, as evidenced by a nice article in Twente’s newspaper Tubantia. The paper interviewed product owner Siemen Roorda about .twente and Mijndomein, as well as about Dotlocal and the upcoming application round in general.
The number of pre-registrations at Mijndomein increased by over 50% in just a few days. This provides a solid foundation for our plans to apply for .twente and other domain extensions next year.
